Giz-China, a leading website on Chinese gadgets, has recently posted leaked images of a 10-inch Tablet PC powered by Ubuntu Netbook 10.10. The tablet is said to be still under development by an un-named manufacturer.
I have been an Ubuntu OS fan since Dapper Drake (6.06 LTS) so when I read about the supposed tablet, I couldn’t help but post about it.
The tablet has the following specification:
- Intel Atom 1.6 GHz CPU
- 2 Gb RAM
- 32 Gb SSD
- 10-inch Touch-sensitive Display
If you look closely at the picture, there’s a Windows logo on the right side which suggests that the system may come in two variants (Windows & Linux). Or it might be a Windows tablet installed with Ubuntu Netbook 10.10.
Ubuntu still has a lot of catching up to do on the user-base field (not on the features). The “geek-only” label is being slowly broken as computer manufacturers like Dell and Hasee release systems pre-installed Ubuntu.
