Your Future Has Been Adjusted
It’s not another conspiracy-themed movie nor is it another sci-fi flick. It’s…unusual and good.
Do we control our destiny, or do unseen forces manipulate us? Matt Damon stars as ambitious politician David Norris who glimpses the future Fate has planned for him and realizes he wants something else.
On the brink of winning a seat in the US Senate, David meets beautiful contemporary ballet dancer Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt) –a woman like none he’s every known. But just as he realizes he’s falling for her, mysterious men from The Adjustment Bureau conspire to keep them apart.
In the face of overwhelming odds, he must either let her go and accept a pre-determined path, or risk everything to defy fate and be with her.
The film is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick (Total Recall, Minority Report and Blade Runner).
The plot does resemble a cliched government cover-up but it’s far from being one. It’s a romantic-thriller detailing how David tries every way to defy what’s been written.
I personally love the Being John Malkovich-type door chase where David and Elise have to go through several “door portals” in New York.
The Adjustment Bureau is an exciting post-post-modern way to view Fate, God and Angels.

I’m on a romantic/comedy/drama marathon. After watching Love and Other Drugs, Get Him to the Greek, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, The 40-year-old Virgin, Elephant, Monster and Teenage Dirtbag.

Surprisingly surprising. You gotta add Love and Other Drugs to your list of romantic movies to watch.
“Academy Award® nominees Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway co-star in a romantic and sexy romantic-drama-comedy. Maggie (Hathaway), a free-spirited artist, meets her match in a charming pharmaceutical salesman named Jamie (Gyllenhaal). Maggie and Jamie leap into a no-strings-attached love affair, but no matter how hard they try to keep things casual, they can’t help falling under the the influence of the ultimate drug…love!”
The synopsis makes the movie sound the perfect fairy tale. It’s far from being so despite the all-iiz-well ending. An uplifting tear-jerker best watched during rest days! (Love and Other Drugs Trailer)
Guys… you get to see “some of” Anne in this movie. And girls, well…enjoy it.
What makes the movie so good? Personally, it’s Regina Spektor’s Fidelity (Fidelity Music Video). Check out the song, you’ll love it.
I wrote about Regina Spektor and other Female musicians that you should listen to a couple of months back.

While browsing, ironically using the super-snail-speed Globe Tattoo, I stumbled across this report at GMA News. Let’s see how “fast” Globe is…it took 5 minutes and 42 seconds to load the news page.
Anyway, I laughed when I read the first sentence of the report, “A survey commissioned by Globe Telecom in the fourth quarter of 2010 revealed that Globe Tattoo has the fastest speed among existing mobile broadband products in the market.”
