Heureka is another historical manga by Hitoshi Iwaaki (Historie, Parasyte). The manga is set during the Second Punic War (218 – 202 BC) which was fought between the small city state of Syracuse and the Roman Empire.
It chronicles the life of the famous Greek mathematician Archimedes of Syracuse and several historical figures such as Carthaginian military commander and tactician Hannibal. Relatively smaller than the Roman army, Syracuse utilized the machines and innovations of Archimedes as weapons of defense.
